Crispy Spicy Genoa Salami Strips
One of my favourite little add ons is Crispy Spicy Genoa Salami Strips. They are super easy to make and add awesome flavour and texture to whatever you add them to. I simply take the genoa salami and cut it into 1/4 inch wide strips and saute it on the stove top until crispy. You need to watch it so it doesn’t burn. It does smoke and carry on while it is crisping up though so make sure you have your hood fan on. I often cook up a bunch and then just store them in a container in my fridge so I have them ready to go whenever the spirit moves me! I add them to soups, salads, mashed veggies or anywhere that needs a texture element! I used it in this Roasted Butternut Squash Soup!
